About Couples Counseling

Sometimes couples therapy is a better fit than a structured group workshop — especially when you’re facing ongoing challenges or want to explore your readiness for a deeper commitment.

Couples often choose private counseling when:

You’re wondering whether you can work through recurring issues before marriage or engagement.

There are specific topics you’d like to address more deeply than a group setting allows.

You want a safe, confidential space to improve communication, rebuild trust, or reconnect after distance.

You prefer the flexibility of scheduling sessions at your own pace.

Or you’re already married and simply want guidance to strengthen your relationship or get back on track after a rough season.

While Marriage Prep 101 follows a preplanned curriculum and timeline, couples counseling sessions are fully customized to your relationship’s needs.

Michelle draws on almost 25 years of experience helping couples move from disconnection to understanding — so you can gain clarity, rebuild safety, and grow toward the kind of relationship you both want.

Sessions are available virtually if weekly, or in Santa Cruz if an intensive format.
